Green School - silver certificate

 ISC – Choueifat receives Green School Silver certificate!

On Wednesday March 16, 2016 and during the 7^th Build It Green – Lebanon Annual Sustainability Solutions Conference, our school received a Green Schools Silver certificate (2^nd place)  based on the Green Schools Certification Program implemented by e-EcoSolutions environmental consultancy firm, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education in Lebanon and with the support of the Ministry of Environment in Lebanon, The Global Coalition for Green Schools and the dedicated partners Grohe, BankMed and Tinol.

The program categories are: Recycling, Green Spaces, Water, Energy, Health & Safety and Sustainability Education & Innovation.

The program included three main stages: The submission of the Green Schools self-Assessments, the sustainability audits by e-EcoSolutions’ team and the implementation of the proposed sustainability solutions.

The certificates were distributed to the schools according to the number of Green Points (GPs) that they achieved:

• 0 to 20 GPs: Aspiring to become a Green School

• 20 to 29: GPs: Bronze Level

• 30 to 39 GPs: Silver Level

• 40 to 49 GPs: Gold Level

In addition to theGreen Schools certificates, each school received a Green Schools Flag to proudly raise on the Green Schools National Days: March 22^nd (World Water Day), April 22^nd (Mother Earth Day) and June 5^th (World Environment Day).

This event was a true example of how we can turn a drowning environmental situation into a rising one in Lebanon through the sufficient will and enthusiasm, factual planning and smart implementation. We are glad to be raising environmentally responsible students, the leaders of our future!
