Poetry Night, Friday, February 22, 2019
Once again, the Arabic Department not only met, but exceeded, expectations with their annual Arabic Poetry Night, أمسية شعريّة.
Following two months of rigorous training, 25 students from grades 10, 11, and 12 took to the podium and recited poems from across the Arab world, each with his/her unique form of expression.
From poems demonstrating patriotism and appreciation of the Arab identity to love poems, it was a night of pure emotion. This emotion undoubtedly touched every audience member, from special guest, Jamal Fayyad, to all the teachers, parents, and students present.
A truly priceless night of the year as it served to awaken and strengthen the students’ connection to their Lebanese and Arab roots.
